A little bit about me
Hello, I'm Lisa
People often seek therapy because of symptoms affecting their everyday lives but are often unaware of the root cause of their issues. My aim is to support my clients to explore and understand what may be contributing to their personal difficulties and struggles, and to help find ways forward to leading a more fulfilling and satisfying life.
My clinical practice is an integrative therapeutic model and combines elements of psychodynamic, CBT and humanistic approaches. This allows me to adapt to each of my client's needs and work to build a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship. I bring warmth, creativity and compassion to my work, to help clients overcome their personal challenges, discover their strengths, resources and unique potential. I believe that understanding, knowing and believing in who we are as individuals can help us to live bravely in our own skin and live the lives we want.
My experience spans across a range of different contexts and settings:
I have worked as a play therapist in primary school settings for a leading charity and delivered workplace training on mental health issues. I have also worked within community counselling services such as YMCA Cambridgeshire and One to One project in Kings Lynn, supporting both adults and young people experiencing a wide range of difficulties. I currently work in private practice and also with Lincolnshire Police and various emergency services.
My diverse background also includes working in various fields such as project management, arts education, West End theatre, film and television, and the visual arts industry. In my spare time, I enjoy walking with my two Labrador Retrievers; Inca and Digger.
