Session information

Beginning therapy can bring a sense of hope and the possibility of change, but it can also feel uncertain, especially if you are not sure what to expect.

Sessions provide a safe and confidential space where you can talk openly about what is troubling you and begin to understand yourself and your experiences more clearly.

Your first appointment

Our first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. We will look together at what is happening for you, how it may be affecting different areas of your life, and what you hope might feel different over time.

It is also a chance for you to get a sense of how it feels to work with me and whether this feels like the right therapeutic space for you. The relationship between therapist and client is important, and it is helpful for both of us to feel that the fit is right.

If you prefer, we can begin with a brief introductory telephone consultation. During this call you can share a little about what is bringing you to therapy and ask any questions you may have before deciding whether to arrange a first session.

Many people feel unsettled before starting therapy, particularly when anxiety or past experiences feel overwhelming. We will move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your experience.

Further sessions

The therapeutic relationship is central to the process of change and lies at the heart of my work. Through a safe and consistent space, therapy allows you to explore your experiences, feelings, relationships, and patterns in greater depth.

I cannot know exactly what it feels like to be you, but I aim to offer a thoughtful and supportive environment where you can reflect, express yourself openly, and begin to understand more about who you are and what you need.

Therapy often involves noticing and sometimes gently challenging the ways we think about ourselves, our past, and the situations we find ourselves in. Over time, this deeper awareness can support meaningful and lasting change.

While therapy is not about quick fixes or simple answers, it can help you develop a stronger sense of yourself, your relationships, and your capacity to move through life's challenges.

We all have within us the capacity to create change and to live more fully and authentically in our lives.

Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly at a time reserved for you.
