The process of seeking therapy can be filled with hope and possibility for change, but it can be daunting, especially if you are unsure of what to expect. Seeking therapy is a positive step and we all have within us the capacity to create long-lasting change, to live bravely in our own skin and live the lives we want.

Getting started

Initial contact

  I welcome any enquiries or questions you may have. You can call, email or text me. I offer an initial telephone consultation which usually lasts about 15 minutes. We can briefly discuss what you need and if it seems right, arrange to meet for a first session. There is no obligation to access my support, and any initial telephone consultation is free. Initial consultation

Our first session aims to explore what brings you to counselling. When we meet you can tell me about yourself and the challenges you are currently facing, and any goals you might already have. I will ask questions to understand more about you and how I can help, or I can offer alternative options if appropriate. I will talk through my approach, and you can ask any questions you have about the process. This session is also an opportunity for us to begin to get to know each other, as it is important that we should both feel we can work together. At the end of this meeting, we can decide if counselling is right for you. There is no obligation to access my support beyond this session.

Subsequent sessions

Should you decide to begin counselling with me, this will involve exploring in more detail what you are experiencing and the areas you want to work on. What we talk about will depend on what you want to bring to the session. Working together in a confidential, safe space can help you to face challenges and negotiate a pathway towards a greater sense of clarity and the possibility of change. Sessions are available Monday - Friday with some evening sessions available and last 50 minutes, meeting once a week at a regular time. I work online throughout the UK and internationally. In-person sessions are subject to restrictions and availability. My practice is located in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

Fees and cancellations

Individual sessions: £55

Couples sessions: £75

 I offer a limited number of concessionary rates for those on low incomes (there is often a waiting list). Payments are required prior to your session by bank transfer. In-person appointments, I also accept cash, payable at the beginning of the session. I have a 48 hour cancellation policy, otherwise the session will be payable in full. It may be possible to reschedule an appointment in the same week, but this cannot be guaranteed.
