Book with Lisa Waterhouse counselling
Step 1
Please email me to schedule a free telephone consultation or to book your initial session. A telephone consultation usually lasts about 15 minutes and I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have. We can briefly discuss what you need and if it seems right, we will arrange a suitable time for your initial consultation, which will be your regular session time if we decide to work together. If an appointment is not available, I have a waiting list and will contact you when a suitable space becomes free.
Step 2
Our first session aims to explore what brings you to counselling. You can choose how you want to connect for your sessions - either by video call or in-person. When we meet you can tell me about yourself and the challenges you are currently facing, and any goals you might already have. I will ask questions to understand more about you and how I can help, or I can offer alternative options if appropriate. I will talk through my approach, and you can ask any questions you have about the process. At the end of this meeting, we can decide if counselling with me is right for you. There is no obligation to access my support beyond this session.
Step 3
Should you decide to begin counselling with me, this will involve exploring in more detail what you are experiencing and the areas you want to work on. Working together in a confidential, safe space can help you to face challenges and negotiate a pathway towards a greater sense of clarity and the possibility of change. Sessions are available Monday - Friday with some evening sessions available, each lasting 50 minutes. We meet once a week at the same day/time. I work online throughout the UK and internationally (excluding USA and Canada, due to licensing laws).
In-person sessions take place in a space that is wholly dedicated to my practice. It’s not used in any other way or for any other purpose. The space has been chosen because it is a private, warm, and welcoming space. I do have two Labradors who are generally very quiet, but it may not be suitable for those with chronic allergies.
Online counselling offers you a chance to access therapy from the comfort of your own home or wherever you are. No travelling time means counselling can easily fit into your schedule. Each week I send you a link to a secure online room - no registration or downloads are required. You will need a good internet connection, a camera and microphone and a suitable device such as a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or PC.
In-person sessions are subject to some restrictions due to Covid-19 and I have completed a thorough risk assessment on all aspects of how I operate. In addition, I offer bottled water, hand sanitiser sprays/wipes and use an air filtration system with a HEPA filter. If either of us or any of the people we live with have symptoms or close contact with Covid-19, I ask that you stay at home.

As a client, you will be invited to join your free online account dashboard where you can access your appointment details. You can reschedule and cancel sessions from your dashboard without having to contact me or wait for a response.
