"You just have to show up and try; to decide that you want something different for yourself; to make a small shift in a new direction. It isn’t easy, and it’s okay to struggle. But there’s freedom beyond this, and you deserve to discover it"
Online counselling can be invaluable for clients with chronic health conditions, mobility difficulties, anxiety, living in rural areas or needing childcare - allowing access to counselling without the need for travel. There is also the advantage of being able to have sessions from the comfort of your own home. I work with both individuals and couples, irrespective of your location and provide online counselling to clients living in the UK and throughout the world.
Online counselling gives you the opportunity to access counselling support at a time and in a place convenient to you without needing to travel to a specific location. This means sessions are not limited by location, time zones, or travel restrictions. I work by a video call which you access through your computer, tablet, or mobile device, or by a telephone call. Research shows that these methods of counselling are just as effective as face to face counselling.
Similar to in-person sessions, counselling is a time set aside in a private space to explore what is happening in your life, where you can express yourself at your own pace and without fear of judgment. We will work together to help you achieve the changes you want to see in your life.
Online appointments take place from my usual consulting room to ensure your privacy and confidentiality. To access our sessions, I use a clinical practice software that is very easy to use. All video calls are secured with end-to-end encryption to ensure strict privacy, confidentiality and security standards. There is no need to download any software, just click the link in your booking confirmation email. This gives you access to our private online waiting room, and I meet you there at our appointment time. If you prefer, I am happy to use software you might be more familiar with such as Skype, FaceTime or WhatsApp. You will need a reliable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone and a private, quiet space in which to meet with me.
Using video to talk about very personal issues can feel a little unfamiliar to begin with. However, most people adapt to it smoothly, without much difficulty.
